Seminal fluid

Disposable and sterile containers for the collection are provided by the laboratory or may be bought at any pharmacy. First, apply the label with your first and last name to the container.

SEMEN CULTURE
Preconditions
Any chemical-antibiotic treatment should be suspended at least five days prior to collection.

Collection
Clean the genital area and your hands thoroughly before collecting. The sample must be produced by masturbation and all the semen must be collected in the appropriate sterile container. Send to the laboratory within two hours from ejaculation. The sample must be handed in before 10:30 am.

SEMEN ANALYSIS
Preconditions
Refrain from any sexual activity for 3-5 days prior.

Collection
Clean the genital area and the hands thoroughly before collecting. Sample must be produced by masturbation and all the semen must be collected in the appropriate sterile container. Be careful to collect all the seminal fluid as the loss of even a small amount at the beginning or the end may affect the test result. The sample must arrive at the laboratory within 30 minutes from ejaculation or, if preferred, you may produce the sample directly at the laboratory.
The sample must be handed in before 10:30am.
